Once a month the club plans a local Sunday afternoon hike providing an opportunity for those not able to join us Saturdays.

Today we walked on the all-purpose trails at Chaffee Crossing. Despite the chilly temps, wind and cloud cover, twenty-three people met at McClure Amphitheater for an exhilarating walk. Trees acted like a wind break and with a brisk pace we warmed up quickly. The trail has some nice rolling ups and downs before

forking at Lake Torraine. We crossed the bridge to the left and continued all the way around the lake. This section is a nice recent addition in the expansion of the Fort Smith trail system. Once back at the fork, the sun came out and we headed back to the amphitheater enjoying good conversation with friends old and new along the way.
