It was a beautiful day to make the long drive to Hawksbill Crag and Lost Valley.
There were a lot of people hiking the trail to Hawksbill Crag. The trail works its way down the mountain, crosses a small creek and then heads upward to the Crag passing huge rock formations. There are several places along the bluff line where the Crag can be spotted and photographed. After getting our group picture on the crag, we began the trek back following the bluff line to view the waterfall. From there it was all uphill to the road where we found places to sit and eat our lunch before heading to Lost Valley.
We were hoping to see elk in the fields as we drove to Lost Valley but not a one was spotted. There were lots of cars in the parking lot and people on the trail. Eden Falls was running nicely and made for a great picture. Sometime in the last year or so, the overhang near the falls collapsed. There are huge chunks of rock piled up. Twenty-two TrailBlazers had a great time exploring these two beautiful areas.
