TrailBlazers traveled to Pedestal Rocks Scenic Area Saturday. It is a long drive but worth it to see this very unusual and interesting place.

Due to the recent rain the creeks and waterfalls were running nicely. Our first stop was to view Hwy 123 waterfall which is a short hike up a hollow and we were not disappointed. From there we continued on our way to Pedestal Rocks. When we arrived, we were surprised to see few cars in the parking lot. We hiked down the mountain to the large rock ledge where the first waterfall flows over. From there we continued to the bluff line where there were numerous pedestals - big and small. Then it was a hike through the woods to reach bluff line that has overhangs and caves down below to explore.  After lunch we left the pedestals behind and began our trek back up the mountain.
